GROW Time Term 4

West Rolleston —

What is GROW time and can you help?

What is GROW time?

GROW Time is an incentive for West Rolleston learners that links directly to our school vision. It is available to learners who make positive choices and illustrate an understanding of the vision.

GROW Time is an opportunity for our children to explore an area of interest or take part in a specialised sequence of lessons, in small groups with a teacher or an adult leader.

Our learners are able to ‘opt in’ to one of the choices that are available that week. Groups will be mixed to encourage positive relationships and collaboration across the school.

The GROW options will change depending on children’s interests and also the volunteer involvement of our community. We hope to provide a variety of activities and experiences.

Can you help?

We would love to hear from anybody who is able to assist by running a group or supporting a teacher. Anything is possible. It may be as simple as teaching a craft, taking a sports lesson or construction…. The list goes on. If you have a hobby or a skill that you are happy to share, we would love to hear from you!

In Term 4 GROW time will take place on a Friday between 2pm and 2.45pm for weeks 1 - 3. Ideally, we would like volunteers to be available for 3 consecutive weeks so that lessons can progress and projects can be achieved. In Term four the dates are as follows.

The dates for Term Four 2018 are:

  • Friday 19th October
  • Friday 26th October
  • Friday 2nd November

If you think you can help please leave your name, best contact option and how you think you can help with our team at reception.

Or you could email: karentownsend@westrolleston.school.nz

Once the options have been finalised for the term, we may put out a request for items from home that could the supplement the activities.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your studio teachers.
