We love to provide awesome opportunities for our children, but we can only do so with the support of our families.
Our community’s socio-economic status means our school is not eligible for the government’s school donations scheme. Our equity index means we receive less operational funding than other schools.
We believe that the partnership with our parent body and community is vital for the success of our children. We do not seek financial donations from parents for your children to attend West Rolleston School, however we would welcome any koha of expertise, time or resources that you may have to contribute in the life of the school.
See attachment below for instructions of how to get a tax rebate on your school donation. How to get a Tax Rebate on your School Donations
WRPS Board has never requested an annual financial donation [“fees”] from our school families. However, in order to provide the curriculum and a range of opportunities for our learners, we do ask for a full or partial voluntary contribution towards all school trips and events. GST is not payable on contributions, and tax credits can be claimed. Unfortunately, with no funding available from the government for these types of activities, it is reliant on the goodwill of our parents and community. There are a number of options for payment, which can be arranged by emailing accounts@westrolleston.school.nzThese include direct credit or paying activities in instalments. In cases of genuine hardship, please email Sylvia; sylviafidow@westrolleston.school.nz this will be treated confidentially.
