Thank you to Jennian Homes for their generous donation of $500 towards sports equipment. The money will be well spent. We also appreciated the visit from the Crusaders.

The children asked them some awesome questions including: 'who did you look up to when you were kids?' 'what's your favourite pie?' and 'who were your coaches as kids?' Of course for some of them it was their Mums and Dads. Thanks to all of our parents who are sports coaches. We still need more support for our Year 5-8 winter sports programme so please see Mr Fraser Malins if you can help.

On the weekend Vaipou Shadwell and I were proud to have the 2017 Pasifika group performing at a food festival in Templeton. It was their first  performance on the big stage and they made us feel very proud. We were especially proud of the leadership shown by our seniors. Our 2018 Pasifika group now consists of approx 70 children and we are working towards a performance at the Cultural Festival, alongside our Kapahaka group, in September.

On Monday I worked in Wellington as part of the reference group looking at our country's approach to reporting progress and achievement across the breadth of the NZ Curriculum:

It is exciting to be involved in this work and I will have more information to share over time.
