Did someone say 36,000 Cheese Rolls?

Lee James —

You would be correct!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Yes a GIANT thank you to every single one of you that helped organise or that came down and made it possible for us to make over 36,000 cheese rolls last Saturday for our WRPS school camp fundraiser. I couldn't believe the turnout we had down at school along with the enthusiasm there was amongst everybody to accomplish this big feat. A whopping $12,000 was raised!

GROW this year paid out over $4k to lessen the burden on camp parents by covering the travel costs to and from school camp. Although this doesn't benefit every child directly this year or next, it will eventually as every year we will continue to provide monetary support to school camp which will benefit you and your child when they get their opportunity to go.

School camps are key in providing our children with life skills away from the classroom and GROW, WRPS want to make sure that these school camps are subsidised in order to ensure that all the children at WRPS get to experience this together with their peers*.

I must say well done to Lucas Templeton who was able to sell 84 dozen, or 1008 cheese rolls to be exact. A very good effort if I do say so myself. A target that will be held up high next year to see if anyone can beat!

Also Congrats to all the other prize winners for your efforts!

Last of all I need to personally thank Joanna Burnett, Stephanie Hautler, Nina Green and Alan Whitmore for getting this fundraiser off the ground along with everybody else that helped organise it behind the scenes.

Also to the many businesses in our community that yet again support us in anyway they can.

*Our mission at GROW's is to connect the school, parents and the community whilst providing support and resources that creates a fun and engaging learning environment for all our children.

Thank you to all that help make this possible
