Message from the Principal
The Scholastic Book Fair has been extremely popular this week. Special thanks to Carmen Walcott-Wood, Nicole Richards, Tegan McDawson-McMurdo and Kim Jackways who have donated their valuable time to process all of the sales. Mrs Amanda Clarkson and Mrs Megan Murray, our lead teachers for the library, have been very grateful for the daily assistance.
The support from our community has also been tremendous and we have made plenty of sales! Hopefully this equates to our children reading lots and being immersed in their books. I am an avid reader myself and have always encouraged my own children to read - yes it sometime means 'taking' their devices off them but as I tell them I do it because I love them:)
It has been another busy week at school this week with our Year 5/6 basketball team participating in the Canterbury Champs on Monday. Mr Fraser Malins said they were awesome and so close in some of their losses, winning a couple of great games too. Thanks to Ellen Woodcock for helping on the day.
Last night our waiata group also represented our school beautifully at the Selwyn Citizenship Ceremony. Thanks to Jacqui Soper and Mrs Tess Rodgers for organising this special opportunity for our learners.
Today Miss Claudia Copeland and Sarah Booth visited Tūranga Library with a group of children for a sensory reading session. Thanks to the parents who helped with this as well.
Ngā mihi
