Message from the Principal

Sylvia Fidow —

I am pleased to be able to report that the Ministry of Education are widening our scooter and skateboard area which should improve pedestrian access into the school.

The work for this will begin in the last week of term and at the same time we are going to request that all children hop off their bikes, scooters and skateboards before they enter the school. We would love your support so please talk with your child about this, it would be great to see them practicing now.

It is timely to also remind all parents and whānau that the car access into the roundabout behind Te Pa Harakeke, is reserved for school taxi vans and vehicles with children who require mobility support into the school in the mornings at ALL times please. In the afternoons, the roundabout is available for kiss n collect only. Thank you for supporting us with this.

Last evening we held our annual school talent show. I am always in awe of the children who get up in front of such a big crowd to showcase their talents. Well done to all of the children who performed and well done to the junior winners: Quinn McAuley and Leon Green and our senior winner: Molly Harvey. Thanks to our amazing staff Mrs Karen Townsend, Miss Claudia Copeland and Miss Katie Talbot for their organisation and for MC'ing the show. We know the children love these opportunities.

Finally, we are running our daffodil day cancer fundraiser tomorrow. We did not do it last Friday because eighty of our learners were skiing. Please feel free to wear yellow if you have yellow clothes or normal mufti and it's a gold coin donation thanks.
