Please read for information regarding this years Waiata Group.

We have had an overwhelming amount of interest for Waiata this year so we have had to make some changes to how we run the group. 

The main Waiata Group will be taught by Jacqui Soper on a Thursday at 12.30-1pm. They will begin the year by learning a song gifted to the Selwyn District Council and then recording this for them and the Mayor in a month. They will also be focusing on learning a range of other songs with the goal of performing at assembly throughout the year and a possible performance at a Selwyn District Council citizenship ceremony later in the year. The age group for this group will be years 3 upwards. 

We will establish a Junior Waiata group with years 1 and 2 which will be run by Miss Finn during a lunch time and they will focus on learning a range of songs throughout the year with the aim of performing in assembly. 

Kids for Kids is in term 4 this year so the numbers for this will depend on commitment throughout the year from the beginning with the intention of taking learners who have shown passion and commitment to the group.
