In week 12 we are excited to announce the launch of our school whare (houses) with a special assembly and fun activities to follow on the afternoon of June 30th.

Each child has been placed into one of six whare; Kōwhai (yellow), Kākāriki (green), Kikorangi (blue), Whero (red), Karaka (orange) and Waiporoporo (purple). The purpose of our whare is to encourage children to feel pride and a sense of belonging to their whare. Whilst at WRPS your child's whare will remain the same and all your children will be in the same whare, so if you've dreamed of the day when you could go out shopping to buy one coloured shirt until their next growth spurt, now's your chance! There will be an opportunity in week two of term three for children to wear their whare shirts. A huge congratulations to our ambassadors who will be taking on the extra responsibility of leading a whare.
