Message from the Principal

Sylvia Fidow —

I was very proud to take the ambassadors to Ronald McDonald house this morning to gift our mufti day donation money. As you can see Heath even took a pile of home baking to share with the families as well.

The children were really well-mannered, and asked lots of interesting questions. If you would like to know about Ronald McDonald House then ask one of our ambassadors.

A big shout-out to our amazing parent community this week and in particular to everyone who supports GROW WRPS, our PTA group. This week they ran our very popular annual winter Wednesday hot choc and biscuit for our children and what an organisational challenge that was with our increased numbers of 417 learners. We really appreciate all that they do for our learners. I know GROW are busy supporting our Matariki evening as well. Hopefully everyone is able to make the GROW AGM (wine and cheese) next Tuesday at 7.30pm in Te Kete Kākano.

Big thanks also to our school community for supporting the recovery of Kosmo the Police Dog who was injured in the line of duty. We all enjoyed the visit from Case the police dog and Andy, who took away the cards for Kosmo.

We are grateful for the support we receive from the NZ Police, particularly with our safe travel to and from school management plan and with our learning programmes. Next Thursday evening Constable Rick will be talking about our up and coming 'keeping ourselves safe' teaching and learning programme. This session is designed for parents and will be hosted in Te Ara Maia from 7pm-7.30pm. Please come along to learn about this.

Ngā mihi

Sylvia
