Message from the Principal

Sylvia Fidow —

It has been a very busy start to the term with road safety week. Thank you to Steph Hautler and the road safety team from the Selwyn District Council for organising the new signage for our kiss and go/collect zones, and the new road markings designed to keep our children safe.

All of the changes have been implemented as a result of the work the traffic safety group lead by Rob Hunt from our BoT completed based on a community review.  Please ensure that you remain in your car if you are using these parks. There are still places where you can park for a longer period of time in the morning and afternoon if you would like to come into the school.

Our BoT purchased two scooters and two helmets for a special prize draw tomorrow at assembly.  We have been collecting names in the morning and the afternoon of children using our pedestrian crossings, and car-parking spaces safely. Children who have been spotted in their safety vests get their names put in the draw twice.

So, it's been an exciting  busy start to the term and we have a busy and exciting term planned for our learners. Look out for more information regarding a talent show, a GROW disco, a parent workshop on maths, more sports opportunities, Arts week and lots more. Please also note that school will be CLOSED on Friday 07 September for Staff Only Day.

ngā mihi
