Message from the Principal

Sylvia Fidow —

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making our Mother's Day Afternoon Tea a success. This is a lovely initiative organised by Dena Greene and GROW and we hope everyone who was able to attend enjoyed it.

Tomorrow afternoon we will have a special celebration assembly from Jennian Homes. Thanks to GROW and community votes we have won $500 worth of sporting equipment. Jennian Homes and a couple of players from the Crusaders will come along and award the gift to us. We will also have a frankfurter for the children to enjoy after the assembly.

Today we were happy to support the Royal Dress Up Day organised by Ella and Shelley in Te Pa Harakeke (Waitaha). Thanks to parents for helping your children with their costumes; and to our awesome staff for getting dressed up. Thanks also to the parent helpers who came in and made royal scones.

As the weather cools we start some of our winter based programmes. Tomorrow all of our Year 5-8 children will participate in the first round of winter sport across seven local venues. The children could opt into a range of different sports including korfball, ki o rahi, squash, netball, football, judo and floorball. Our school gym will be used for badminton. We look forward to our children representing our school proudly and demonstrating the kowhai rules in the community. Thanks to Mr Fraser Malins and the senior teachers for their organisation of this.

Ngā mihi

Sylvia
