GROW update

Kylie Drake —

I’m always in awe of the amazing contributions that many of you make to our school community. Whether that’s helping out with GROW time, pouring hot chocolate, or helping out with basketball training. I think it’s fair to say that we have a great “village” in which to raise our children. The GROW team are hard at work behind the scenes trying to secure grant funds, organise events, and ensure we can support our teachers when needed.

Ladies Night is coming up on August 30th – this is a great opportunity to meet other mothers, mingle with some teachers and play some great games. I’m really looking forward to the evening. If you’re wary of coming alone, don’t be, everyone’s your friend after a glass of wine!

Basketball raffle tickets will also be going home with those children who play on a school team in the next day or so. Please help us raise some more money for much needed basketball uniforms. All the prizes have been donated by school families. Lee James managed to secure a signed Breakers singlet and Carmen Walcot-Wood has kindly framed this for us. Raffle tickets will be $2 each. If your child doesn’t play basketball, but you’d like to sell some tickets, extra raffle cards will be available at the office.

Cheese rolls. There have already been some amazing sales. We’re aiming to subsidise Senior camp by $70 per child again this year. So please keep selling and block out September 14th in your diaries. We made 36,000 cheese rolls last year. Nina Green joked with me at assembly last week that she’d like to see us make 50,000 this year!!! Let’s make her dreams a reality.

As usual, if you have anything you’d like to raise with the GROW team, please email us at growwrps@gmail.com or grab somebody in the playground.

Nga mihi
