Car Park Fun at West Rolleston Primary School
Learners at West Rolleston are enjoying the car park at morning tea and lunch, here's why....
Learners with wheels are really loving the car park at morning tea and lunch. Once the gates to the parent carpark are locked after the bell, the fun starts in the first break!
Ever since this idea for letting kids ride in the car park was born, it has become super popular. The car park includes lots of different sorts of transport, including scooters, skateboards, rollerblades and roller skates. We get to do discos, obstacle courses and just general wheel fun.
The Rules Are:
Be kind, wear a helmet, and watch where you’re going.
Everyone there can enjoy the wheels zone. At least one or two teachers are on duty there to make sure everyone is following the rules and they are also there to help anyone who might fall over. But, even though at break times the fun is there, before and after school it is not! Before and after school, it isn’t allowed due to the cars there to pick their children up or to drop off their children.
Everyone is loving the new scooter zone, and fantastic events happen there! However, in order to experience the fun, you need to get on your wheels, get your helmet and just go and ride!
See you there!
