We have had a busy start to the term and have some great achievements to celebrate

Selwyn Central Zone Cross Country

We had an amazing day on Tuesday at the Selwyn Central Zone Cross Country. We are so proud of all of the runners who represented our school giving it their best shot.

A huge congratulations to those who have qualified for the Canterbury Champs - Grayson Seddon, Jess Potter, Madi Docherty, Harry James, Josephine Thomas, Conner Woodcock, Ellis Woodcock, Keelan Ingersoll-McGuire and Crystal Schuurmans.

Basketball

Our Year 5-8 Zone Basketball teams represented our school so well at the Selwyn Central Zone Basketball competition last week. Congratulations to our Year ⅚ girls and Year ⅚ boys teams who have both qualified for the Canterbury Champs!

A huge thank you to our coaches for all of your hours of hard work.

It is so great to have our Year 5-8 Monday Basketball up and running. It is amazing to see West Rolleston learners having so much fun together. Thank you again to our team managers. This couldn’t happen without you.

Year 5-8 Korfball

Our Year 5-8 learners have enjoyed three weeks of Korfball Lessons in class with Tortsen and Youri from Mixx Limited. We have had some great feedback from learners and teachers who are keen on continuing their Korfball journey. We have a Korfball Fun Day coming up at the end of the term to be held at the Selwyn Sports Centre. We will seek interest from learners in the coming days.

Netball Lessons

It is a great pleasure to have Becky and Denise from Selwyn Netball at school this term running lessons for our Year 0-6 learners. Te Ara Whānake have enjoyed their fun lessons and are already applying their new skills in their Year 3 and 4 Winter Sport programme. Te Kete Kākano, Te Ara Tūpu and Te Ara Whānui are up next!
