GROW update

Kylie Drake —

GROW highlights, bright whites, neon lights and quiz nights

It's an exciting time for those of us involved with GROW, as we ramp up our activities aimed at providing opportunities for our learners through infrastructure and community events. We've currently turned our focus to providing more Junior play spaces for our youngest learners (Year 0-2), as well as ensuring additional shade sails are installed in the playground areas before next summer. All of our events have an emphasis on (FUN)draising, so please join in where you can, meet some new people, and have some fun! 100% of the proceeds from our fundraising events go right back into the school.

Not sure how to help? Make sure you join our Facebook Group: GROW West Rolleston Primary School where we post about all of our activities. Or email us at growwrps@gmail.com.

The first GROW Disco of the year is next Friday 24th May: Bright Whites and Neon Lights. Dena Greene, Linda Currie, and their team of helpers have put together a fun evening. Feeding and entertaining 100s of kids is a mammoth task, not to mention tidying the gym and turning the event around in 15 minutes for the Senior disco, so please see the GROW Facebook page for ways you can contribute.

We've also been asked to provide marshals for the Canterbury Duathlon series, which is running at Brookside Park this winter. We need 14 volunteers from 9.30-11.30am on Sunday June 9, June 30 and July 28.  See the Events page in our Facebook group to volunteer. Volunteers do need to be over 18 and will ideally hold a full drivers license, as we will be in charge of traffic management.

Finally, we are holding a Quiz night at Silver Dollar on Tuesday July 2nd at 6.30pm (see below). There will be raffles on the night for 5 hampers, as well as an auction and prizes. Joe Sefton and Nicole Richards are currently looking for donations towards the hampers, so please get in touch with them if you can help. This promises to be a fun night, so I hope as many of you can make it as possible!

Thanks,

Kylie
