Message From the Deputy Principals

Amanda Clarkson —

Kia Ora Koutou

Firstly we hope you are all keeping warm and well after the cold snap we had during the week. With all the rain we have had it has meant that a lot of our grass areas around the school have become very muddy. Andy has placed cones around these areas and we ask if everyone could please stay away from these areas.

Thank you so much for those who have booked in their learner led conferences that are being held on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

A learner led conference is a conversation between the parent, the teacher and the child and is focused on recent and next learning steps. There is time for your child to walk you around the learning studio and describe for you all of the different rich learning tasks he or she has been involved in. There will also be time for you all to meet with the teacher for 10 minutes. Bookings are still open, so please make sure you make a booking at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and use the code edrdj.

Another reminder that the NZ Book Awards Show is coming to West Rolleston Primary on Friday the 9th August. The Show is called ‘TREASURE HUNT’! It is an interactive and educational in-school performance that explores the issues of sustainability and our relationship with the natural environment as well as celebrating how books & reading can create understanding and bring people of different backgrounds together.

The show costs $5 per child, this will be added to your account and payment needs to be made before the show please. If you do not want your child to attend, please let your child’s whanau group teacher know.

Good luck to all our Year 5 - 8 Netball and Rugby teams that are taking part in a tournament next week at Rolleston Domain and Rolleston College.

School Photos are tomorrow and we look forward to seeing everyone turn up with a great big smile.

Best Wishes

Amanda Clarkson and Ben Galletly
