Keeping Healthy

We have had a lot of illness over the past few weeks. If your child is unwell, please can you keep them at home. If your child has episodes of vomiting and diarrhoea our school and Ministry of Health policy is to keep your child at home until well and not to return to school until 48 hours after last episode - Thank you

About Anxiety in Children

We are excited to offer a Workshop for parents called “About Anxiety in Children” which covers how anxiety works, what it looks like in children and tips to manage anxiety. It will be discussion based, and there will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions and talk about strategies. It will be run by Ursula McCulloch, a clinical psychologist with years of experience in working with children, now based at the School Based Mental Health Team. Date: Thursday 5 July Time: 6:30 – 8pm in Te Ara Maia

Kiwi Spelling Bee Competition

This year the University of Canterbury is delighted to launch the great Kiwi Spelling Bee competition for primary and intermediate schools Y5-8. The Kiwi Spelling Bee competition is written by New Zealand teachers for New Zealand students and is based on the New Zealand curriculum. The online competitions will be run in Term 3, from 30th July to 17th August 2018 at a time suitable to the school. All participating students will be awarded a certificate and prizes will be awarded to top students in each year group. The cost for a student to participate is $8.50. Paid Union Meetings Wednesday 8th May 12.30pm
