Parking, Collection from School and Kea Crossing

The safety of our children is of paramount importance to us. It is compulsory for all children to wear a safety vest, this is part of your stationery order. For children who walk/scoot & bike to school there is a patrolled kea crossing on Dunn’s Crossing Rd. If walking, scootering or biking to school learners must enter school via the school Kea crossing which operates from 8.30 - 8.55am before school and then 3.00 - 3.15pm after school. Learners must get off their bikes and scooters and walk them across the road. Bike and scooter parks are found in front of Te Kete Kakano (Burnham school rd). We encourage all families who are walking to school to use this crossing please. There is a carpark for staff on Dunn’s Crossing Rd and a “drop off” zone along with a carpark for parents/whānau on Burnham School Rd. The speed limit for these spaces is strictly 5kmph There is also a special drop off area for our Waitaha children by their learning studio, Te Pa Harakeke.

Taking Children From School

Should there be any need for you to remove your child from school during the school day, please ensure that they are signed out at the office, even if you tell the teacher, the office staff are responsible for keeping the roll up to date for emergency regulations. Should a member of the family or someone unknown to us be required to collect the child, it is very important that they identify themselves to a staff member/office staff and that you advise the office staff before they collect the child.
