Cultural Opportunities

We have a range of cultural opportunities for our learners at West Rolleston Primary School,  Te Kura o te Uru Kōwhai, we offer many different cultural opportunities for our tamariki to explore and engage with.

We have weekly Kapa Haka sessions, and a Pasifika Group. We love performing at Cultural events such as Matariki Evenings, or festivals.

Each term we hold an Ako Day which is a day focused around a value for our local Taumutu marae, Te Pā o Moki. Ako days are a day to celebrate our Māori heritage and whakapapa, this being said they are not in any way limited to our Māori learners.

We also enjoy inviting our families to our Whānau Hui evenings and we really love our Cultural Celebration Days!
