School Cross Country a Triumph!
On a beautiful sunny day, Westburn School raced over long distances to test our endurance and determination.
On the 20th of May 2025, Year 4-8 walked over to Ray Blank Park and took part in an epic cross country competition. Everyone who took part should be proud of their efforts, because the course was grueling and people who finished looked like they wanted to collapse. “I felt really exhausted after running,” said Leni, who won the Year 6 girls’ race.
At the end of a tough race, the winners in Year 5 were Thurston and Liam for the boys, and Sophie for the girls. In Year 6, Luke and Leni came out on top. For Year 7, Logan and Imogen were victorious. And of the Year 8s, Aimal and Phoebe finished first.
Logan was worried at the start, saying “In the first turn Cooper was next to me which made me think he could beat me.” But in the end he was just too fast.
The top runners in each group will be representing us at the North West Zones on Wednesday 4th of June. Good luck to them!
