Thank you from Hawkes Bay Schools
This week we received an email from Mark Johnson of the Hawkes Bay Principals' Association, thanking us for our recent Cyclone Gabrielle fundraiser.
"Many thanks for the donation received from Westburn School - what amazing support from your school community!
"I want to inform you that the HBPPA bank account has been inundated with donations from around Āotearoa towards cyclone relief for local schools and their communities. We have identified about a fifth of Hawkes Bay schools (around 80 schools) that have been significantly impacted by the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle.
The HBPPA executive committee has elected to allocate the funding on three different tiers in terms of our understanding of the way these schools have been affected. These funds were allocated early this week as cash deposits into the individual schools' accounts. We have received in excess of $20,000 as of today.
Every indication is that this event is going to have a significant impact on the wider Hawkes Bay community in the months and years ahead.
The support shown by your school is greatly appreciated and accepted with heartfelt thoughts and aroha.
Thank you very much on behalf of the recipient schools within the community of Hawkes Bay.
Thanks Westburn Te Kura O Hereora!
