Pub Charity grants us $10,000

Susan Jennison —

We are incredibly grateful to Pub Charity for their ongoing support of our school. This recent grant will make an immediate difference to many students in our school.

 Though BYOD is operating in most schools around the country, we've always been mindful that device costs place an unmanageable burden on some of our families. For this reason, we maintain a number of devices within each team for student use.

The cost of providing these devices is substantial and due to the amount of use they get, they need regular replacement to ensure their functionality is adequate for classroom needs.

Additionally, as our programmes evolve and we seek to provide our students with relevant and timely opportunities to develop digital fluency, we need to provide additional devices, particularly in the junior area of the school.

The $10,000 gifted to us by Pub Charity will be used to purchase:

  • An OSMO Genius kit for junior classes, to grow cognitive and problem-solving skills, particularly in maths;
  • 22 Chromebooks for use in Team 3; and
  • UE Booms for Team 2, and the Music & ESOL teams.

We're very grateful for the ongoing support of Pub Charity, who have partnered with our kura for five years now, providing a significant number of devices for our students. Their generosity supports us to provide the best possible educational experience for our students and to inspire them to reach their full potential.
