Book Character Dress Up Day

Jane Brown —

Alex and Ciana from the Year 7 & 8 Media Team report back about Book Character Day...

On Friday the 21st  of June, the students and teachers at Westburn School dressed up as their favourite book character for book week.

Book week was part of the WSCA readathon. The readathon was a fundraiser for the school.  It encouraged the kids to read and finish seven books to win a free pizza from the Hell Pizza Reading Challenge. Students also got sponsorship for the number of books to read.

In each class, there was a prize for the best-dressed student. Even the teachers dressed up too! In assembly, we read to our little buddies for the last 15-20 minutes. Thank you to everybody that dressed up and a special thanks to WSCA for setting this event up too. The effort that everyone put into their costumes was great to see and it was a fun end to the week.
