Chinese Prizegiving
On Tuesday, 21 November the Confucius Institute recognised students from Canterbury for excellence in Mandarin and calligraphy. Several students from Westburn received awards at the prizegiving.
The Excellent Learner Awards for primary students were presented by Christchurch City Councillor, Jimmy Chen. Lucas Wieblitz, Kaleb Wieblitz, Callum Maule, Aaron Zhang, Hamish Giddens, Frederico Rubin, Jamie Wood, Lena Ahn, Sebastian Enoka and Lucy Gallagher from Westburn received awards for their excellent attitude, progress and participation in Mandarin language lessons.
Two students from Westburn also won prizes for their participation in the 2017 New Zealand Calligraphy Competition. They were Max Hao (first place) and Michael Chen (third place).
