Can you help? Your school needs YOU...
We have had a small and faithful troop of wonderful parent helpers, also known as community 'heroes' - serving our school on the crossing each morning and afternoon since the earthquakes.
This has been to ensure that teachers are able to spend important contact time with children each morning in class. As a team we have always been so very appreciative of this parental support.
However, many of these long serving 'heroes' have had to stand down from the road patrol team as increasing work commitments have made this problematic for them. As a result we are asking for new volunteers to supervise our student team. The greatest need is currently Friday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Monday afternoons but it would be great to be able to offer some respite to some of our long standing team members also.
If you think you could help us, please make contact with lisa.mcwilliam@westburn.school.nz. The children and families who use our crossing on a daily basis will be so very grateful for your support.
