Te Mātāpuna Mātātahi Children's University 2025

Rachael Kavermann —

Would you like your child to be involved in Children's University for 2025?

Te Mātāpuna Mātātahi | Children’s University (TMMCU) supports and encourages tamariki aged seven to 14 to participate in exciting and engaging learning experiences outside the classroom.

The University of Canterbury and Lincoln University work in partnership to deliver the programme. Tamariki are issued a Passport to Learning. They fill the passport with hours of learning from outside the school classroom.

The learning experiences are all out of the classroom. Parent support is required to ensure your tamariki complete the minimum number of hours to graduate.

This year Westburn School is very fortunate to have been offered 30 places at the children’s university.

If you’re keen for your child to participate, please email Rachael Kavermann (SENCO) at rachael.kavermann@westburn.school.nz to indicate your interest. Due to the limited number of places that we have on offer the ultimate decision of who will be involved will be made by the senior leadership team. All expressions of interest need to be received by Friday 21st February 2025.

There is a cost of $25 per child to participate in the program
