  • Westburn Reserve play space renewal Council update - In 2023, we consulted on the Westburn play space renewal and received 65 submissions. Since then, this project has been put on hold because of internal changes however we are now ready to progress the plans to the Waimāero Fendalton Waimairi Harewood Community Board for a decision. The Waimāero Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board decided to accept the staff recommendation, on 10 March 2025. We expect the play space and Learn to Ride track renewal to begin in spring this year. Toilet upgrades will also occur at the same time as the renewals.

  • Who's your local hero? Community Services Awards - Nominations for the Community Service Awards are open. The Waimāero Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board is one of four Community Board areas participating in the awards for 2025. Community Service Awards give well-deserved recognition to the people who make our communities better places to live. Both individuals and groups are eligible for awards in recognition of significant voluntary service. If you know of someone who deserves recognition for their community service, you are welcome to nominate them for a Community Service Award.
