The Sports Academy students were very thankful for their brief respite from their practical work in the rain to get some theory done indoors.

Fourteen of the Academy class students worked alongside two referees from the WCRU to improve their understanding of the rules in both theory and practice.
The students were a little wet but impressively focused as they understood the practical element to the assessment is putting the theory into action on the field over the coming weeks. The huge responsibility of that did not go unnoticed but their teacher knows they have the shoulders for that pressure.
The instructors ended the session reminding them that they are role models now and in a position of authority which is a burden to some. But our students are used to being role models and understand that doing the right thing, even if it is not the most popular at the time, is what being a good member of the community is all about.
