Our students recently did exceptionally well in the ChessPower Regional championships chess tournament.

The Y7/8 Chess Team did really well at the ChessPower Regional Champs. 

Individual Results:

• 1st - Noah Turnball
• 2nd - Ainhoa Alkorta
• 9th - Greta Thompson
• 10th - Ruben Tschampel

Team Results

• 1 - Westland High School
• 2 - Greymouth Main School A
• 3 - Runanga School

The Y9 -13 Chess Team made a valiant effort, given they were a player short due to illness. A special mention for Sam Nicholls and Lukas Drnasin who both had some good wins.

Well done to everyone involved. Hopefully we can build on this for next years tournament.
