We thank the community for their support

Westland High School —

Through out the year many school groups fundraise to provide extras for the students. The community are an invaluable support with these efforts.

Fundraising is an integral part of all school's. Without it school's would be unable to provide many of the extra experiences that are so important for students to develop a broader understanding of the world around them. We thank everyone within the community and the parent body who help to support the school with our fundraising efforts and community grants. Below is a list of this terms efforts so far.

The Performing Arts department are fundraising for a portable sound system and to attend ShowQuest in Nelson. They have raised $1550.00 so far through: 

  • Food and beverage sales at Athletics day
  • Rubbish collection at Wildfoods 
  • Ugly Shakespeare Company, performance at the Regent Theatre 

The Bilingual class are fundraising for a Noho marae in Whakatu. They have raise approx $2230.00 so far through:

  • Athletics Day sausage sizzle
  • Wildfoods camping
  • Poi sales
  • Swimming Sports food stall
  • Stall selling food and craft items at school

The Sports academy have been fundraising for a mid year trip to ARA institute in Canterbury where they will take part in a level 3 gym instruction course. They have raised approx $1500.00 from Wildfoods camping.
