Westland High School welcomes Ms Jane Brownie to lead the school's international programme from 6 May 2019.

Jane has been the Homestay Co-ordinator for term 1, and  is an experienced host and enthusiastic supporter of the international programme.   A succession plan is in place with outgoing International Director Yvonne Simpson to ensure a smooth transition.

A message from Jane:

Kia ora koutou katoa

I am thrilled to be taking the position of International Director. It has been something I have wanted to do for some time. Our family has had a connection to the programme through hosting in past years and I am passionate about young people gaining international experiences. We are fortunate to have wonderful hosts available in our town and students who are keen to be buddies for international visitors and introduce them to Westland High School.

Thanks to Yvonne Simpson for all the wonderful work she has done with the International Programme during the last 20 years. I am grateful for her guidance so far.

I will share an office with Mrs Simpson and in the mornings will work as an administrator in the main school office. I look forward to getting to know you all.
