Lockdown photo competition

Westland High School —

Read on to find out more about our lockdown photo competition and the winners for the first weeks draw.

During the last week we have been running a photo competition. We asked students and staff to send in photos from their daily walks of the beautiful landscape we have in Hokitika.

Each week for the remaining time we are in lockdown a winner from the previous week's submissions would be announced. Winners will receive a Kai Whakapai food voucher.

We have been sharing all entries on the school's Facebook page and Instagram account.

Last week's winner was Rebecca Davis for her early morning view of a horse overlooking a cow shed.

Special mentions were to Cooper Reed for his black and white landscape, Ruby Bradley for her water splashing out of a glass and Hugo Anderson for his carefully timed balancing on poles in the water.

We also used Sam Rasmussen's photo for Mr Murray's Principal's article in this newsletter.

The task of choosing a winner from the entries was exceptionally difficult given the high calibre of entries. We have loved seeing the photos and the community has loved seeing them on social media, highlighting just how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful town.

Keep sending in those photos to be in the next draw for a Kai Whakapai voucher.
