1XV receive their cap ties

Mr M. Waller - Sports Academy teacher —

12 1XV players recently received their tie's in a capping ceremony. This was a record for the team.

Every year our boys work hard on the field that is a given. This year though their support for each other off the field has been impressive, checking in with the new players and looking after them at training.

During the tie ceremony, where the captain hands out the new ties, the boys stopped and proceeded to acknowledge the hard work of the amazing support team Karren Burrows our medic and strapper for literally holding the boys together and Angela Williams our amazing manager, who was the boys first pick and they know how lucky they are that she agreed.

It was so good to see the boys gratitude articulated naturally like that. It speaks volumes of the work the staff across the kura put into them, and needless to say, I was truly proud of their performance off the field as well as on.
