On Tuesday the 4th of May, 11 of our year 7 and 8 boys travelled to Greymouth to compete in a league tournament.

The team played hard defense, with tries only being scored against them from lucky kicks or very fast wingers. On offense they worked well as a team and created gaps in the oppositions defensive line. These led to multiple amazing half field run away tries. Most games were very close and it was up to the final game to see who would win the round robin cup.

WHS came away in 3rd place. It was a great day had by all and it seems we now have a few more boys keen to join club league.

Jaylem Aitken and Calen Nelson both received MVP (Most valued player) awards.
