Samsung "Solve For Tomorrow" Competition 2021

Mr Harrison - Digital Technology Curriculum Lead teacher —

Years 7-10 DTEC students you could win!

Our new Digital Technology Term 3 course has started a new topic on 3D modelling with TinkerCAD and SketchUp for students to use "Design Thinking" to develop 3D solutions for local and global problems. As a bonus they may win a share of $20,000 as well as make the world a better place!

Samsung has teamed up with M.O.T.A.T. to create a brand new competition challenging New Zealand’s next generation of innovators to change the world for good.

Students will be challenged to "Think outside the box". Identify an issue that our community is facing – which might centre around social isolation, housing, sustainability, the environment, our response to climate change, diversity and inclusion – and demonstrate how STEAM can be used to create a new solution.

So if you know a Kiwi kid in years 7-10 who wants to change the world for good, get them to check out Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition. Samsung is putting up some awesome tech for the winners with prizes such as the 65” flip 2 interactive displays and cash – a total of $20,000 in prizes!

All you need is an idea and the desire to make a difference. Come up with a problem or issue in your community that you can solve by using STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Maths. Enter individually or as a whole class – there is no limit to the number of people in a team.

We have four weeks to get solving because entries close on 31st August 2021. To find out more visit www.samsung.com/nz/solvefortomorrow
