South Island Town and Country Swim Meet

A number of our very talented swimmers recently competed in Blenheim for the SI Town and Country swim meet.

Jared Davidson, Merryn Jellie, Freya Craig, Lucas Masters, Jorja Kyle, Ollie Wieblitz, Tamsin Gillespie, Rebekah Provis, Flynn Sargeant and Kobin Wieblitz travelled to Blenheim in March to participate in the South Island Town and Country swim meet. The swimmers have worked hard all season to gain qualifying times to be able to enter.

From 78 events entered, 48 personal best times were achieved.

In their age groups the following placed -

  • Lucas Masters - 2nd 200 breaststroke and 3rd in 100 Breaststroke
  • Jorja Kyle - 1st 50 Freestyle and 2nd in 100 Breaststroke. She also broke West Coast Records in both these events.
  • Ollie Wieblitz - 3rd in 50 Backstroke
  • Rebekah Provis - 2nd 100 Backstroke, 2nd 50 Butterfly and 1st in 50 back. She broke a West Coast Record in 100 Backstroke.
  • Flynn Sargeant - 1st in 50 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Butterfly and 200 Backstroke.
  • Kobin Wieblitz -1st 100 Individual Medley, 2nd in 50 Backstroke, 200 Individual Medley, 50 Butterfly, 50 Breaststroke, 3rd 100 Butterfly and 50 Freestyle. 
  • Freya Craig - 2nd in 100 Breaststroke and 3rd in 200 Breaststroke
