Badminton competition

Ms K. Gallon - Sportshub administrator —

On Tuesday 12th of May, two boys and one girls team competed in the annual West Coast secondary schools badminton tournament.

There were approximately five schools contesting for two trophies that would be awarded to the boys and girls team who had the biggest score differential and came away with the overall win. Westland High School had a few junior students step forward to play amongst our seniors, alongside Bruce Miller showing great sportsmanship and representing Greymouth High School due to short numbers.

Westland High School boys A came away in first place after a nail biting win from Scott Matthews single final 22-20, allowing them to be awarded the boys trophy; while our girls team came in second place.

An awesome day for our students to be involved in and celebrate sporting success in our school.
