Senior students create portfolios of art built up over the course of the whole year and then submit these for external NCEA assessment.

In Art instead of sitting exams at the end of the year, the external assessment is a portfolio of work. This is a big project that Art students complete across the year. They need to develop their own ideas, make sure that work interrelates and show an understanding of established practice 'standing on the shoulders of giants'.
