Invitation to Westland business people to be educated and inspired by our special guest speaker, David Kinane.


Speaker: David Kinane● Director and Consultant dakinane limited, Director and Consultant at Sharp Kinane Limited,David has been an e-Learning/ICT specialist since the 1990's.● David has presented e-Learning workshops and theory at conferences all over New Zealand and has also presented on e-Learning pedagogy and integration at conferences in Hong Kong, Australia and the Czech Republic. David writes regularly for Interface Magazine.● David Kinane is currently delivering numerous PLD contacts and Digital Technologiescontracts from Northland to the West Coast. His clients also include commercial technologycompanies who supply and support New Zealand schools with their technologyrequirements.

Catering provided by Soroptimist International of Westland. Their funds raised will support primary aged girls to attend Westland technology camps in April / July.

How can education meet the challenge?Artificial Intelligence has the tempting potential to offer businesses financial efficiencies, but at what cost to the community? The new digital curriculum is aimed at creating thinking skills for learners that will equip them with the ability to adapt in a rapidly changing workplace but will future workers be attracted to or repelled from the Coast? David takes a global view at what businesses should be considering to ensure that locals have work to do. AI is a double edged sword: do the benefits outweigh the negatives ?Date: Tuesday 24th March 2020
