Teresa Burn — Dec 4, 2018

At the end of term we will be saying a sad farewell to some staff who will not be returning in 2019

Laura from LS1 joined us in Term 2 and has been a wonderful addition to the studio.  The team and the students have really enjoyed working with Laura.  In 2019 she will be continuing her teaching career in Papua New Guinea. We look forward to hearing all of her news.

We were really fortunate that Sarah Burt from LS4 stepped in to replace Alice during Term 3. Sarah will be returning to relieving and part-time work in 2019 so she won't be a stranger to us.

Fie came back from overseas to open our last new entrant classroom.  It says much about our education system that Fie has loved being back teaching in New Zealand.  She has taken up a position at Newmarket School next year.

We also say farewell to  Marcela, who began her teaching career at Westmere five years ago. She has taught in the Middle School and Senior School, so will be well known to lots of our families.  Marcela is known to me as being passionate about her learners.  Earlier this term she attended both the In Our Beat and APPA concerts because she knew that it would mean a lot to her students to have her there.  She will be missed for going that extra mile for her students.  Marcela has taken the opportunity to develop her teaching experience at Dominion Road School.  She goes with our best wishes and huge gratitude for the work she has done at our school.

These teachers will be formally be farewelled at our final assembly Thursday 20th December.
