Kia Hiwa Rā! Kia Hiwa Rā!

Would you like to up your skills in pronouncing and speaking Māori, or maybe help your kids with their Māori language homework?

Feedback from last year’s classes:

‘Thank you again for an awesome fun experience with learning te reo in the weekend.’
‘I certainly learnt a great deal from you both. What a wonderful support for Westmere parents, such practical ideas on how they can support their children at home.’
Thank you so much to you all. I had a fantastic fun day and definitely practising the odd line.’

After successful events last year, we’re happy to offer two more one day wānanga to be run at Westmere this month, with first preference given to our school community.

Māori 4 Grown Ups is a community group co-founded by parents including Westmere’s Stacey & Scotty Morrison nearly ten years ago. Māori 4 grown ups (find us on Facebook ;) ) is all about supporting whānau to enjoy Te reo Māori in their homes. We will even look after your kids on-site while you learn!

The Māori 4 Whānau One-Day Wānanga Reo series focus on functional and fun ways to work the reo into our busy lives, with practical tips and phrases.

The ‘Bilingual 4 Beginners’ class on Saturday May 28th is delivered in both English and te reo Māori and is suitable for absolute to advanced beginner learners of te reo.

The ‘Immersion 4 Intermediate’ wānanga reo on Sunday May 29th will give you a chance to try a Māori immersion environment. Please don’t worry that you won’t keep up - we always aim to be friendly, helpful and supportive of each other.

Registrations are being offered to all Westmere whānau before being opened up to the general M4K Inc community (via our ‘Māori 4 Grown Ups’ Facebook page).
