School Life

This Week

With the end of term upon us and Matariki approaching, it is a good time to reflect and give thanks.

A massive thanks to our teaching team and support staff! Our children are thriving under your care, and it is always impressive to see and hear all the small ways you show kindness and care - you truly embody our school values. A block doesn't go by where a teacher, learning assistant, Anita, Joyce or Tony don't tell us about a win they've had with a child or a noticing they've had. The team are reflective, not because they're told to but because they truly seek to do the best job they can for every child.

Thank you to all of you parents! There are countless ways you support our school, teachers and tamariki. Research shows that when we all work together, we have the best outcomes, and we can certainly see that around here. A special thanks to all of those parents who use that little bit of spare time they have (or don't have) to do those extras - from field trips to shelving books to parent reading to organising discos and other events. We know how precious time is, so we're super appreciative.

Thanks to our awesome kids who turn up every day with your big smiles and positive attitudes. For the way you give everything a go and persist when the going gets tough! It is such a joy to watch your successes and the people you're growing into.

We hope everyone is able to use this Matariki period to rest, reflect and connect with whānau. We look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 3.

Mānawatia a Matariki!

Congratulations to our Kaitiaki o te Kura winners

Flippaball Registration Open to All

We are looking to make 2 senior teams and 1 junior team for Flippa Ball but need to know numbers by this Friday 3rd July.

Games are played on Sundays at Dio School. The children get to enjoy training organised by Atlantis Flippaball club and then play a game. It's a great team sport and you get to represent Westmere School.

If you are keen please text Adele Miles 0224118283.

Scouts Jamboree Fundraising

My name is Eden, I am year six and I am a scout at Point Chevalier Air Scouts. In December, my scout group has a jamboree that is a camp for ten days, and I need to raise $2000 by November! I am fundraising with Surti’s Samosas and for every box of samosas that you purchase, $10 will go towards my fundraising goal. Please click through to the link to order yours. Thanks in advance for your support!

Playball for Term 3

Playball is so excited to be back at Westmere School for Term 3, 2026!

Playball is a sport and movement program for 2-9 year olds.

The main objective of Playball is not to create superstars, but rather to provide children with the opportunity to develop many necessary physical, social, educational and personal skills. From a child's perspective the most important element of our program is FUN! For many children, their Playball lesson is the highlight of their week!

We will run Playball at Westmere School every Tuesday after-school, 3pm-4pm.

Playball fees for Term 3 are $130 for a 10-week term (inc GST).

To enrol your child/children, sign up online form. You will find 'Westmere School’ under the classes section- Get in quick! Spots are limited.

If you have any queries, contact Tania on 02102895901 or email tania@playball.co.nz
