This Week
It has been a fabulous week at kura.
The Middle School had a successful noho at Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae. The sleepover was a real highlight for the Year 4s. The Seniors went to Rangiriri Pā and learnt about the initial stages of the invasion of the Waikato during the NZ Wars.
Next week our Juniors are heading to Māngere Mountain to learn about why Tamaki was such a desirable place to settle.
Strategic and Annual Plans
Every three years we refresh our strategic plan. The Board begin by consulting the community (parents, students, teachers, wider staff, etc.). We completed this last year and shared the general themes with you.
We used those themes to create our overall strategic goals.
From the larger strategic plan we create an annual plan to work towards those goals. This is our 2026 Annual Plan.
With all the new changes to the curriculum that were released at the end of 2025 and the upcoming changes to assessment and reporting these will be our main focus throughout the year.
We have been mandated to carry out an Attendance Management Plan, so that is also an action this year.
And as always, we want happy, thriving learners, and our wellbeing programme is an important part of this. We will continue to develop this programme to meet the varied and changing needs of our tamariki.
School Donation and Stationery Update
We're getting closer to completing stationery payments. If you haven't paid for stationery yet, please do so ASAP, you have until the end of the term.
Advertising @ Westmere
Westmere School | Te Rehu is inviting local businesses and organisations to tender for signage opportunities around the school's perimeter fence line.
It’s a great opportunity to display your brand, as well as be seen to support your local school, our children's learning and the wider community.
Signage sites are open for tender — please submit this form with your best tender offer before Thursday 12th March 2026 at 5pm.
Successful tenders will be notified no later than Monday 16th March.
Junior School Breakfast - TOMORROW
