School Life

This Week

Your local just got a whole lot more local

For one night only, the hall will be transformed into your local pub. It's time to forget about all those winter ills that have passed through everyone in your house and get your friends together for a night out.

Forget about cooking for the night because there will be a delicious offering from Maia and his team (so no need to head to Queen's that night). Sweep away the cobwebs in time for spring with a quiz and get behind the mic for a little karaoke.

Get your tickets now!

Whānau Forum

Whānau Forum is coming up in a couple of weeks. You will have received a Hero notification with instructions for how to make a booking.

Classes will finish at 12:45pm that day for everyone except NUONI and Studio 1.

Whānau Forum is a wonderful opportunity to see the progress your child has made so far this year. It's a chance to ask the teacher any questions you might have and to get an update from last time you were in. Please remember that all whānau are welcome - grandparents have been very popular additions!

Curriculum Day - Teacher Only Day Friday 28th August

Our next Ministry Curriculum Day is coming up Friday 28th August. Our staff will once again be working on Mathematics | Pāngarau.

These days offer us the chance to review our programmes and team goals in Mathematics to make sure we are in alignment with the new curriculum. Because of the two-year shift in expectations in the new Math curriculum, we have targeted this area to ensure there is minimal impact on our children's achievement.

Kaitiaki PE: Little Kickers Club

Our Kaitiaki PE have been running Little Kickers at lunch times on Thursdays. All Junior School children are welcome. The leaders will take the tamariki through drills and skills in a fun and supportive way.

Change of Clothes

With the change of weather this term, kids can get dirty and wet. Please pack a change of clothes for them in their bag.

Teacher Only Day

Please note that Friday 28th August will be a Teacher Only day and school will be closed.

Playball for Term 3

Playball is so excited to be back at Westmere School for Term 3, 2026!

Playball is a sport and movement program for 2-9 year olds.

The main objective of Playball is not to create superstars, but rather to provide children with the opportunity to develop many necessary physical, social, educational and personal skills. From a child's perspective the most important element of our program is FUN! For many children, their Playball lesson is the highlight of their week!

We will run Playball at Westmere School every Tuesday after-school, 3pm-4pm.

Playball fees for Term 3 are $130 for a 10-week term (inc GST).

To enrol your child/children, sign up online form. You will find 'Westmere School’ under the classes section- Get in quick! Spots are limited.
