Out of School Hours Music - 2024

The Out of Hours Music Classes are a national scheme funded by the Ministry of Education. It exists to provide an introduction to a chosen musical instrument for children of primary and intermediate school age.

Tuition is given in one instrument that you choose; keyboard, kit drums, violin, acoustic guitar, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, recorder, singing and a new course Introduction to instrumental music (Try our many different instruments). You will be provided one group class each week of the school terms.

The classes will take place throughout the week between 3:30 and 6pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Whanganui Intermediate School, Thursdays at Tawhero School and Saturday morning classes between 10:00am till 2:00pm at Wanganui Intermediate School. You will need to attend one lesson per week and each lesson is usually 30 minutes long.

Registration for these classes can be done on line and in person.

Email bruce.jellyman@gmail.com to get your information pack which includes the enrolment form or attend the registration day being Saturday 17th February between 10am and 12 noon at Whanganui Intermediate School music room or at Tawhero School Hall on Thursday 22nd February between 3:15 pm and 4pm or pick up your information pack from Gatshack Music 71 Ridgeway Street.

You will need to complete a registration form and return it to bruce.jellyman@gmail.com or put it into my letterbox at 4 Cumbrae Place, Aramoho. Registration will need to be completed by February 29th 2023.

I will email you to tell you when and where your class is. Classes will begin Classes will start from Saturday 9th March and will continue through the school terms, finishing around week 4 of term 4.

You will be notified of the lesson time by email or post in late February early March.
