We are excited to announce that our school has a pēpi (baby) whale tail to design and decorate.

This will be part of the WWF Whale Tale Trail, and the pods of pēpi tails will be joining the trail mid March. Our tail will be designed and decorated by students, and then will go on display at Coast Plaza for the second half of March and through April. After that our tail will be returned to our school.

We have already had someone offer to sponsor our Whale Tail.  We are very lucky to have such a wonderfully supportive community.

• Can you help with any supplies?

  • We would love an old nautical chart including the Whangaparaoa area if anyone has one that we could have - this may be used in the design and would not be able to be returned.

  • We need some Resene clearcoat UVS for the sealer coat

  • We have ideas of perhaps having a sensor that will enable a sound file to play when people go near our tail - can you help with advice and/or equipment for this?
