Watch out for our kids!

Please DON’T use the Edith Hopper carpark entrance to do a u-turn. Many children cross that entrance and you may surprise them. Please also take extra care if you use Edith Hopper carpark - enter and exit slowly to allow our children time to see you. Remember to teach your children to use the crossing if you are on Ladies Mile, please don’t cross by our school field, it’s just not safe when there’s lots of cars around. Thanks.

TravelWise Promotion

Keep up the good work Whangaparaoa! We love seeing kids being TravelWise getting to and from school. This helps keep them healthy and they arrive at school ready to learn. It also cuts down on traffic around our school which is safer for everyone and great for the environment.

This week and next (8- 19 June) children can collect a ticket and get a click for each day they come to school a TravelWise way. They can go in the draw to win a prize if they get more than 5 clicks, and every TravelWise journey helps towards their class total. The class with the highest percentage of TravelWise journeys will get a pizza lunch! Send your kids to see the TravelWise Team outside the library each morning.

Walking School Buses / Cycle Train

Good news! Our Manly Village walking school bus now runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday mornings. Drop your kids off there instead of driving to school, or they can walk to join if they live nearby. Meet at 8.20am corner Brixton and Rawhiti Rds (outside Precious Pipis preschool).

Arkles Bay Bus walks by the beach and then up the hill through the bush path - what a great adventurous way to get to school on Fridays.

Our cycle train is up and running Mondays and Wednesdays from Polkinghorne / Onepu through Edith Hopper Park. Some of the kids had some bike training with Auckland Transport this week - they practiced some skills and got a free reflective bag cover to make them more visible when riding.
