On the 24th of July, we had a powhiri to welcome the new staff, new students, international students and families to our school.

Our Karanga girls waited outside to call to our guests and welcome them into the hall. We felt very nervous because we were in front of 800 children and families. We felt more confident once we had started our Karanga and speech. Tamati spoke to the manuhiri (visitors). It felt really good when we put cloaks on the new staff members. It was a really good way to welcome our new whanau to our school.
