Surf lifesaving campaign next Monday

Next Monday morning just after 9am we have been asked to go down the road to Manly Beach and support the NZ surf life saving campaign for summer. The children need to form numbers and a drone will take a photo from above. The numbers are 702, which is the number of lives saved last year, and also 15 which unfortunately was the number of lives lost in water. The whole promotion is about taking care near water and having everyone safe for Christmas and New Year. The  children will not be swimming or be allowed anywhere near the water.  There will be no face shots of our children. If anyone is asked to speak, we will ask parent permission.  If you do not want your child involved, please email me at kcronin@wgp.school.nz.

Learning Assistants

Our school through the support of the community is one of the only schools in New Zealand to employ Learning Assistants (LA’s) to enhance learning in the classroom. These valuable people are parents from our community and their commitment to all of our children is huge. On behalf of our students, teachers and parents I would like to thank them sincerely for the magnificent job they have done this year. Our BOT have once again supported this initiative with our budget for next year.
