GRIT CAMP

Kevin Cronin —

It was an absolute pleasure to head out to Grit Camp last week with 22 year six students.

The students climbed the second highest waterfall in New Zealand, and then took on many outdoor challenges during the week designed to build their confidence and enjoyment of the outdoors. Such experiences included rock climbing, orienteering, walking a rope line at night, making fires and cooking their lunch, conservation, archery, river walks, climbing up waterfalls and sliding down them, playing scrugby and a candle walk at night.

Our students were stars as they worked through and persisted with many of these challenges. The instructors and camp manager shared how impressed they were with the respect and team culture the students shared.

Rob Soffe has taken another group this week, and next week I am lucky enough to head out to camp again.
